45/15 Calendar Option

On November 15, 2016 the Rochester Public School Board voted to not expand the 45/15 calendar.

45/15 is an instructional calendar with school beginning the last week of July after a six-week summer vacation. Students attend school each of the four instructional quarters for approximately 45 days followed by 15 days of vacation.

Currently Longfellow Elementary (grades K-5) is operating a 45/15 instructional calendar.

Rochester Public Schools is considering adding additional 45/15 options for the 2017-2018 school year (note: no decisions have been made at this time). RPS is researching and soliciting feedback back from families, community enrichment providers, and staff through various mediums.
