District 535 and WSU Partnership
Since 1986 Winona State University (WSU) and Independent School District 535 have been joint participants in a Graduate Induction Program for grades K-6 in the Rochester (MN) Public Schools. The program is designed to assist inexperienced teachers (residents) with challenges unique to entry into the field of education. Residents complete a Master of Science in Education through a sequence of course work and field components. K-5 residents are placed in elementary school settings. Residents assigned to a sixth grade are at a middle school site.
