Together, we can make a BIG difference in the lives of our children!
Hello Awesome Folwell Families! Happy May!
We have exciting news to share with you! As of May 1, we have already raised $6,190 for the new addition to the Folwell playground! Yippee!
Our goal is $30,000! So, let’s seize this great opportunity to make a big difference in the lives of our children! Let’s work together and do our very best to raise the remainder of the money needed for the playground by the end of this school year!
Sound impossible? Never! TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT!
Here’s how you can help:
1. Please help your child find sponsors for the Folwell Olympic Fun Run! This includes family and friends who live outside of Rochester. Remember, donations can be made online by going to http://givemn.razoo.com/story/Folwellplayground. Click on the green “Donate” button and enter the donation amount. Then, click on the blue sentence, “Dedicate my donation to someone” and enter “jogathon/Student’s name/Teacher’s name.
2. Please donate a special gift, hobby or talent for the Silent Auction, which will be held during the Carnival on May 11. A decorated cake for a special occasion or a golf lesson are a few examples. Please contact Kaya Garcia at or Betty Kennel at with any questions. 3. Please come to the Folwell Carnival and Silent Auction on May 11, 5:30 to 8:00 PM. Also, we are in great need of volunteers on the day of this event! To sign up for a shift, please contact Bethany Wood at .
4. And, of course, we gladly accept monetary donations in any amount! Checks may be made out to “Folwell PTSA” and returned to the main office. Donations may be made online by going to the Folwell homepage.
Please contact me if you have any questions at .
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

FOLWELL CARNIVAL AND SILENT AUCTION Mark your calendars for May 11th for the Folwell Carnival. This annual event is something all Folwell families look forward to. There will be carnival games, carnival food, a silent auction, raffle and more.
Along with all of the fun, there will be many opportunities for you to help out by volunteering for a shift. The carnival cannot happen without everyone's help.

STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
May 7-11 is Staff Appreciation Week. The PTSA will be providing daily treats and messages to the staff. For a more personalized touch, we would like the kids to write a note to their teacher(s). Have them say something special and send the note directly to the teacher. This will really make the week special!
In addition, the PTSA will be providing the staff with breakfast on Thursday, May 10th. Watch for the email if you would like to contribute some food or contact Jodi Hass at .
BECOMING A LOVE AND LOGIC PARENT COMING TO FOLWELL ELEMENTARY PARENTS: Becoming a Love and Logic Parent® A two-hour training program will deliver practical, on-the-mark ideas and techniques for working with today’s children in really loving, consistent ways.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR - BUY ONE GET ONE FREE! The Spring Scholastic Book Fair will be held the week of May 8 – 11. When your child buys one book, they will get one free. This is a great way to add to your library in time for the summer break.
YOUNG AUTHORS, YOUNG ARTISTS CONFERENCE Folwell 4th and 5th graders are welcome to attend the 25th Annual Young Authors, Young Artists Conference on Friday, May 18th held at the RCTC campus.
