Rochester Public Schools Closed
Rochester Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, due to weather conditions.
School Age Child Care (SACC) is OPEN at Northrop from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
All day and evening Community Education classes are cancelled.
All night school classes are cancelled. Alternative Learning Center (ALC) Night School at Golden Hill is cancelled.
The following schools’ conferences have been canceled for tonight and will be rescheduled for another date:
Gage Elementary-rescheduled for Thursday, February 11
Bishop Elementary-rescheduled for Tuesday, February 16
Jefferson Elementary-rescheduled for Tuesday, February 23
Elton Hills Elementary- rescheduled by classroom teachers for another date
Sunset Terrace Elementary
Ben Franklin/Montessori at Franklin Elementary
Bamber Valley Elementary-rescheduled for Tuesday, February 16 (same time), PTA meeting canceled

MCA Practice Tests.
Information for you from Matt Hillman (principal, Belle Plaine): "The St. Paul Pioneer Press has published MCA/GRAD practice tests online this year. These are a great resource for your staff/parents/students to help with MCA test preparation. Included are practice tests and answer sheets organized by grade level in a ready-to-print format. These tests cover grades 3 - 8 and 10 in Reading and grades 3 - 8 and 11 in Mathematics."
To access the practice tests:
1. Go to http://www.ppnie.com
2. In "Student Login" box: enter MCA for Teacher's last name and MCA for the class password. Click "Go!"
3. In the upper-left hand corner, click on "Click here to get MCA Practice Test."
4. Click the arrow next to "MCA Tests" to expose the drop down list for selecting the subject/grade and questions/answers.

About Sunset Terrace
Sunset Terrace is a contemporary elementary school nestled in a quiet neighborhood in northwest Rochester. They are proud of their high academic standards, friendly staff, and high parent involvement.
Sunset Terrace offers students a wide variety of educational and leadership opportunities while fostering growth of the whole child. Academic support is provided through special educational services, English as a Second Language, additional reading support for grades K-5, Reach High (a strong mentoring program) and the Gifted and Talented program. Leadership opportunities are available through serving on the Student Council, the Safety Patrol, or as a conflict manager; participating in community service; or working at the Fifth Grade School Store.
Sunset also offers on-site School Age Child Care (SACC) call 328-3778, a breakfast program, a strong PTA and ViE (Volunteers in Education), and many family-oriented activities including Family Fun Nights and a Spring Fling.
